State Secretary Nikolina Brnjac represents the Council of the EU in the European Parliament

State Secretary Nikolina Brnjac, as a delegate of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, participated in the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg (Ministerial Delegates) where she represented the Council of the European Union for the first time during the Croatian Presidency.

At this year’s first session, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, presented the program and priorities of the Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and answered questions from MPs.

State Secretary Brnjac participated in discussions on the agenda of the plenary session and presented the Council’s positions on the protection of European citizens’ rights in terms of Brexit. State Secretary Brnjac also participated in the Conference on the Future of Europe, the Rule of Law, the memory of World War II and possible irregularities in the withdrawal of EU funds.

On the sidelines of the plenary session of the European Parliament, State Secretary Brnjac, on behalf of the Council, signed the first joint decisions of the EU Council and Parliament in 2020.
