New Advocacy Collaboration for Equality and Diversity

The Local Democracy Agency Sisak and CROSOL – the Platform for International Citizen Solidarity have joined forces on a new project titled “Live Equality, Celebrate Diversity!” The project addresses the lack of developed civil society organizations (CSOs) that drive change in the promotion and protection of human rights in Sisak and Sisak-Moslavina County.

We have initiated two very productive meetings with representatives from partner organizations. The meetings introduced the project, its activities, and discussed the roles of each partner in the preparation and implementation of the project. Additionally, the initial steps towards organizing education for civil society organizations in Sisak-Moslavina County and strategies for launching a public campaign on social media were agreed upon. The project aims to address issues on three interconnected levels:

  1. Strengthening the advocacy capacities of CSOs and public institutions on European values, democracy, and the role of associations in societal development.
  2. A public campaign about the work of CSOs in Sisak-Moslavina County and their importance in building a solidarity and inclusive community. This aims to acquaint citizens with specific activities of local associations active in advocating for human rights, European values, and working on the integration of migrants into the local community.
  3. An advocacy campaign proposing to the city council the proclamation of the Diversity Day of the city of Sisak. As the project progresses, the importance of continuous dialogue and collaboration will be crucial to ensuring its success, and we look forward to working with our partners.
