GEAR UP! – Global citizenship Education Actions to strenghten youth engagement through local support to LAs and CSOs, to accelerate Progress towards sustainable development

Project Objective:
The GEAR UP! project promotes the values of global citizenship education as a tool to foster solidarity and social change, with the ultimate goal of creating a fairer and more sustainable world. It focuses on strengthening cooperation between local authorities and civil society organisations in eight EU countries, with a special emphasis on involving young people in actions related to climate change, sustainable development, and social justice.

Specific Objectives:

  • Provide financial support to local authorities and civil organisations for projects in the field of sustainable development.
  • Strengthen the capacities and competencies of key actors through education and networking at both local and European levels.
  • Increase awareness and engagement of young people (15–30 years old) in eight EU countries on global challenges, such as climate change and gender equality.
  • Promote gender equality and an intersectional approach among policymakers, youth, and civil society organisations.
